#truthtalk - Ask Why
Here's the problem:
Just because it's hard doesn't mean it's effective. And just because it's fun doesn't mean it will get you what you want.
I see so many programs and methods built around a gimmick that lures people in.... masses of people...... and that works. For a little while. But over time, as the dollars are spent and the countless check-ins are made but the physique stays basically the same or goes right back to what it was before you ever got started, it fails.
At the end of the day, your instructor should be able to explain the science behind WHY he or she has you doing x, y and z for an hour and nine minutes.
And you should be asking.
Did you know that the latest research says HIIT is not the best way to lose stored body fat? It's "okay," but not nearly as effective as they once thought. Is your program adapting and evolving based on those findings?
Did you also know that strength training, specifically in the hypertrophy rep ranges (think 8-12 typically) along with metabolic conditioning and lactic acid training is THE BEST WAY to rid your body of those stubborn spots once and for all?
Good coaches and trainers know these things. They regularly read and research so they can grow and so their athletes can grow.
You guys. It's your hard-earned money you're spending. And your time (which is even more precious if you ask me). Make sure you're getting what you pay for. And if you're not sure, come see us.
I can promise you'll get your money's worth at Tribe. :)
